Suniya’s research has focused on resilience and vulnerability among various populations, including youth in poverty, students in high-achieving schools, and mothers. With over 150 scientific publications, her research is widely cited in academe and in major news outlets, and has been recognized by several prestigious awards. In her role at Authentic Connections, Suniya will continue her research and will also continue to consult with schools across the globe, including presentation of findings to individual school communities.

“Suniya is a foremost expert on adolescent resilience, and her experience as a mother adds so much to her ability to help parents, students, and communities. AC’s impact will grow exponentially with Suniya on board full-time,” said Nina Kumar, CEO. “I could not be more excited!”

Speaking of her new role, Suniya said, "I am beyond delighted to join this team full-time — so much vision, energy, creativity, and dedication in applying science for the greater good. A privilege indeed; thank you, AC!"
